estrogen surge before ovulation

Ok ladies, expert opinions needed!

If understand this right, ladies can get a temp dip the day before ovulating because of an estrogen surge, right?

I ask this because today (CD12) I have an 18mm follicle, my LH surged, and my estradiol is still too low for comfort for my RE. However, the one month I did OPKs, I had an almost + on CD12, then the level dropped the next day, then I had a blaring + on CD14. I almost always ovulate on CD15. Isn't it possible that my LH will drop tomorrow, then my estrogen and LH will surge again on CD14 and I'll have a healthy, mature egg when I ovulate? Please be honest! My RE was of the opinion I would ovulate tomorrow with a less than mature egg, and didn't think it likely my estrogen would increase. However, she said "you never know." ugh...so now I'm of course obsessing. Thanks.

Why would they even say such a thing? Of course you are going to ovulate a full on mature sparkly fabulous fertile egg!

LH is funny that way, not funny haha, funny annoying. i bet it will work out just as it's supposed to, and re's can't know what your body will do, no offense to them, mother nature is just tricky. i was married to an ob/gyn for 13 years, best intentions but they mis-guess a lot of the time.

From what I understand, without a trigger shot the egg will wait till it's ready, they font just go pop the second they hit 20mm or something silly. Lh jumps around a lot and is hard to get a good read of. And yes estro Climbs right before o and is what triggers the lh surge.
I think s/he is silly for telling you that you will o an early egg. It will come when it's ready (unless triggered) and the only estrogen level that counts needs to be taken the day of or day before o from all that I have read. A lot can change in 48hours!

Thank you, ladies!!! That makes total sense. I haven't ovulated yet, so I think today's the day for the estrogen rise. I like knowing my body better than the experts....as scary as that is. Fertility to all!!!
