Does anyone know if there is a timelimit as to when tryptase blood test results would be accurate during allergic reaction? If one is still experiencing allergic reaction symptoms but is 3+ hours past the onset of those symptoms would the test results accuratly indicate if the person is having a true allergic reaction?
I had a reaction monday. Swollen face, bright red, mild fever followed by 5+ days of swollen joints and joint pain. I had similar reaction in Dec, ended up in the ER with ER doc also assuming food related allergic reaction (my throat was actually beginning to swell that time and I had full body hives). All skin testing for allergies were negative. Reaction assumed idiopathic. Had reaction monday and got in to the ER for outpatient lab draw about 4 hours after the initial onset of symptoms. From what I can gather, though I have not talked to anyone about the results yet, they appear to be within normal range (I can view results online but they came from a different lab than usual so they aren't meshing with the format on my online account and somewhat difficult to make out). So, so confused as to what is going on if these results are 'normal'. No doctors ever seem to give me a clear answer.
