Cloth diapers & potty training?

I am wondering what would be the best thing to do here:
We are making strides with potty training with our 23 month old son. He out grew the toddler sized prefolds & we started using disposables. He's been able to take the 'sposies off and go to the potty when he needs to, with some cooperation from us. I would really like to get out of the disposables for money reasons...we use SO many even with him PTing because they have to be thrown out even if he only goes once in them!

Any suggestions on how we could continue to use cloth with him AND potty train? We can't use the prefolds because they don't fit him anymore & when they did they were difficult for him to take off on his own, because of the snappi.

My DS just went naked at home for a good month, and now just wears pants (no pullups/diapers/undwear as he thinks their all diapers and pees/poops in them :roll

When DS1 showed an interest in the potty we got rid of the diapers and just used training underwear. After the first few weeks he had hardly any accidents.

Gerber training pants (and covers if you wish)

I'm nodding along with PPs. Maybe some nakey-bum time? Gerber training pants perhaps? Although I have some for my guy and there ends up with a puddle on the floor so perhaps laying those prefolds into the training pants would work...

Hi Allisonrose! Me too--I agree with PPs. Maybe start with more naked time and gerber training pants because they are both nice and cheap. I'm starting to look at other training pants and they are really cute and really expensive and I keep thinking they are made just to lure cloth diaper fans... like me. Mamadelbosque—our totally-out-of-diapers 19-mo-old friend also goes sans undies. Maybe that's a common thing--just using whatever if its close to the body.
