Help - ring sling newbie

I just found a ring sling at a consignment. I've never used one before, but I get the basic idea of how to use it. What confuses me is it came with two slings: one regular size and another tiny one. Not sure if the smaller one is supposed to be used in conjunction with the larger one? Anyway, here is what they look like. The one on the left is the regular size sling and the one on the right is the small one:

Not sure if you can tell by the pics how big they are. The large one has a 3" ring and the material is 7' long and 28" wide. The small one has a 2" ring and the material is 5' long and 14" wide. Has anyone ever seen one that tiny? It looks like it was made for a doll! Not sure what to do with it. I'm confused!

Thanks.

My guess is that this is a "Mother and Daughter" set of slings. One for Mama to use with the new little sibling and one for big sister to use with her dolls.

The small one is def. a doll sling. I know of no conceivable way to use the two together. The big one is just a regular ring sling.

DS has started to ask me to put his dolly on his back! So cute. I've arranged a wrap type thing with a scarf for him, but I think I need to get him a doll MeiTai!

You'll want the little one when you child gets a little older. My DD tries to wear the regular size one. It's super cute, but doesn't stay up well!

I agree that the little one is a doll sling. I also wanted to mention that the adult sling you bought is rather narrow compared to most ring slings, and that might result in it being difficult to use. It actually looks narrow enought o possibly not contain the baby correctly in at least some holds, but I'm not sure. I've just never tried one so narrow. Maya Wraps, for example, are 34 inches wide. If you have trouble with it, don't discount slings entirely.
