I'm looking at buying a sheep skin (Lambie) for my 2mo old. Are some better than others and what about shorn and unshorn ones? Any advice would be helpful!

You'll want to find out how it's been tanned; most sheepskins are tanned using super-toxins, but there are ways of doing it in a more healthy manner.
Unshorn? I'm not sure what you mean; you absolutely do not want a big old scraggly unshorn sheepskin in your home period. If it's something you'd like under a tummy-sleeper, it should be as closely shorn as possible while still being fluffery.
I have a cream-colored, short-pile fleecey blanket tucked in tightly in the cosleeper for my 3 month old tummy-sleeper. I prefer it as my youngest sister had a real sheepskin than became her lovey.
You haven't seen gross until you've seen a 4 year old sheepskin lovey being dragged around everywhere.
