One that doesn't look like a raincoat, isn't super-cutesy, and isn't $300, anyway.
I'll be working pretty much until I go into labor, and some of that work involves court. One of the courts I'm in on occasion has an absolute requirement of jackets for attorneys. I'm looking for something that can go over a dress or blouse, so I'm not stuck wearing it all day in June (ugh).
However, maternity jackets seem to fit into one of three categories:
1. Gawdawful hideous, cheap looking, oddly shiny, better as outwear. (Motherhood, I am looking at you.)
2. Bordering on silly (cropped, 3/4 sleeves with huge cuffs, bows reminiscent of bad bridesmaids dresses, weird colors or patterns so it doesn't actually go with anything...who comes up with this?)
3. Way too expensive for something I will wear a handful of times (I'm not planning to have more children after this).
Right now, I'm wearing non-maternity styles unbuttoned, but I think that will cease to be realistic in short order.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
