Anyone know where I can find a good, plain, black maternity blazer?

One that doesn't look like a raincoat, isn't super-cutesy, and isn't $300, anyway.

I'll be working pretty much until I go into labor, and some of that work involves court. One of the courts I'm in on occasion has an absolute requirement of jackets for attorneys. I'm looking for something that can go over a dress or blouse, so I'm not stuck wearing it all day in June (ugh).

However, maternity jackets seem to fit into one of three categories:
1. Gawdawful hideous, cheap looking, oddly shiny, better as outwear. (Motherhood, I am looking at you.)
2. Bordering on silly (cropped, 3/4 sleeves with huge cuffs, bows reminiscent of bad bridesmaids dresses, weird colors or patterns so it doesn't actually go with anything...who comes up with this?)
3. Way too expensive for something I will wear a handful of times (I'm not planning to have more children after this).

Right now, I'm wearing non-maternity styles unbuttoned, but I think that will cease to be realistic in short order.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Could you get a men's, and have it altered? Do you have a Men's Wearhouse or similar discount suit place nearby?

I have seen a couple Olian blazers at Amazon. At $100 they are out of the range of what I am willing to pay for clothing that will be worn a few months. My solution for now has been purchasing a couple larger sized blazers from local thrift stores. I'm not sure how long that will work.

I've looked at bigger stuff but the problem is, anything that's big enough to work in the midsection is linebacker-esque in the shoulders and too long in the arms. (I'm 5'2"/128# normally, and wear a 6 petite, can get away with a 6 regular in some lines for tops.) I'd have to have it altered into oblivion just to fit (and by that point, I will have spent enough on alterations that I might as well get something nice to begin with).

Those Olian ones look really nice--maybe I'll get lucky and find one second-hand locally.

There's some really classy ones here.

IDK if they still carry them, but I found an OK black blazer at Target when I was pg with dd1. Nothing fancy, and more unstructured than I would usually wear, but courts will cut you a LOT of slack I found out when that belly starts growing.

I just keep wearing my non-maternity blazers. I have same problem as you what with the court-going... I don't button any of them, but nobody expects you to be all buttoned when you're pregnant. I worked up to day I went into labor, at BigLaw, and had no problems. I think you ought to be okay...
