"veganize" namaste chocolate cake mix/soy, gluten free cake mix you like?

hi all, we are having our second soon! yay! at home. we have a doula who is going to come and hang out with our 3 yr old during labor, so he doesn't feel too neglected during the whole process. one of the things they plan to do together is to prepare a birth day cake for the new baby. i just learned last night that our doula is gluten and soy free. i found a couple of recipes online that they could make, but then i thought it might be easier to just have a cake mix available for them.

this namaste cake mix (https://www.namastefoods.com/shoppin...=item_list.cgi) is soy and gluten free, but calls for eggs. of course to complicate things we are vegan!

my question is, has anyone used egg replacer in this or any other gluten & soy free cake mixes before with satisfactory results?

I haven't used egg replacer with a cake mix like that, but I have used egg replacer (Orgran No-Egg is my favorite, it's soy free) in so many recipes and I just love it. I think you'd be fine.

If you go to their website they have a bunch of egg replacement suggestions, I'd guess any you normally use as a vegan would work. I've used applesauce in their stuff before. I just responded to say that their vanilla cake is not very yummy in my opinion. For plain white cake, I like Whole Foods 365 brand gf vanilla cake (not sure if it's soy free or not, but probably is since I don't usually buy soy products). If you stick with Namaste, their spice cake (w/carrot cake modification) is good. Hope you have a great birthing day!
