Hello Ladies,
my son is 7. He started life as a 33 weeker at high altitudue and was in the PICU for a month. Since then he's been 100% healthy. He's had strep throat one time and NO ear infections ever.
last year it was noted that one of his tonsils was huge. and displaced (in the middle as opposed to settling into it's little caved out area) and the other was shrivled. because tonsils change so much during childhood and my son had no other issues (sleeps well, no snoring no mouth breathing...) we took a wait and see approach. 6 months later, still huge.
So, they want it out. even third opinion said it should come out as tonsils are lymph tissue and could hold non-hodgkins lymphoma and it needs to come out and get biopsied regardless.
opinions? Anyone ever hear of "huge" tonsils? As we get closer to the date I am so very nervous for my baby to go under the knife.
