Is this part of SI/hip pain?

I've recognized for a while that I seem to have SI joint pain with this pregnancy--the spot is the right spot, the limping on one side, and the pain at night when turning.

But now I'm finding that joint/area seems to be doing a grinding cracking thing when I turn over at night. It's quite painful but becoming inevitable if I hope to move or turn. What concerns me is the grindiness and pain of it.

Have others had the same disturbing and painful grinding sensation?

I think when mine was really bad, it did all kinds of distressing things like that. I have SI joint dysfunction independent of pregnancy. You could be developing arthritis in the hip socket.

Do you have any Doctors of Osteopathy (DOs)in your area? I have been seeing one for years and I am a new woman. There was a time when I couldn't walk on a hard floor for more than five minutes without being in excruciating pain. DOs (many of them) do osteopathic manipulative therapy, and insurance will usually pay since they are doctors. I've also been through PT twice for it, and it made a world of difference, and I bet you'd get good results with Pilates, if insurance was unwilling to pay for PT.

As for things you can do yourself - do you sleep with a pillow between your knees? It helps a lot. You might have to play with the thickness - you'd be surprised how much padding you might need.
