I had stopped nursing for various reason so have returned to consuming energy drinks, well my 18 month old son is sick and I'm worried about dehydration so I had considered reoffering the breast but am concerned because I had an energy drink friday morning,is it unsafe for me to offer my milk?

What is the ingredient in the energy drink that worries you?

You had an energy drink Friday morning.

It's Sunday afternoon.

I wouldn't worry on this one.

ginseng Glucoronolactone and Guarana Seed Extract

I wouldn't be concerned about the energy drink at all but if it's been a while since you nursed I wouldn't count on having enough supply to deal with his dehydration.

Ginseng should be gone by now (and may be safe if the quantity was small - would need to check with Hale's to be sure), and with Guarana the active ingredient is caffeine so that should be gone too (caffeine is safe while nursing, may just keep the baby awake).

I agree with the PP. I would offer but also be aware that your milk supply may have decreased significantly.
