what sides do you have with your pizza?

or maybe you just eat pizza on it's own. But if not, what do you eat alongside it? We have either fries, garlic bread, salad or breaded onion rings. You?

Salad would be it.

Avocado, pepperocini and beer usually. I guess those are more condiments though.

Well, since you're asking now, in March, I'll answer that we don't eat pizza in spring as we eat Ayurvedically and everything about pizza is a big seasonal no-no.

BUT I love pizza and usually have a salad with it. When I complete a meal with sides, I look to compliment the main course nutritionally, so since pizza is cooked, I add something raw, since it has bread and cheese (and meat for us), I want veg (I'm not big on veggie pizzas, though that would also do it).

And since I am now sounding like no fun at all, I'll add that when we do splurge on occasion, I love fries and/or onion rings with pizza, oh, and a Coke or beer!

Oh man, now I'm really craving all of that! Oh well, mung bean sprouts are almost as good

Sometimes it is just the pizza, but usually we also have a salad.
My son likes applesauce with his pizza.

Garlic bread/breadsticks/bread and butter, and one of either salad or steamed broccoli or spinach. Plus applesauce if we have some.

Just a salad.

I don't really get having fries or garlic bread with pizza - why the need for more starch? But whatever floats anyone's boat. And garlic bread is awfully good stuff.

garlic bread is not a side. it is just pizza without cheese

Does hydrogenated garlic dipping sauce count? so so bad. soo sooooo gooood.

if we much have a side we have a salad. usually just pizza/breadsticks and dipping sauces.

Usually a nice garden salad with it That is it. Sometimes if we order out we will get some garlic or cheese bread with it, but that is just almost like eating the pizza, IMO.

We made pizza last night and also made some salad and a big plate of fruit.

Sometimes, if we've ordered out, we'll get a side of bbq chicken wings. Most often I make my own and that's all I eat. DH eats baked beans with his. When I was in high school they served fries with it.

salad, applesauce, corn. Applesauce and corn was what we always had with pizza at school, so it seems like they just go together.

At school they serve broccoli with the pizza. It is pretty good with it, IMO.

Pizza is a complete meal unto itself. Who needs side dishes? :

we get fried ravioli and salad w/ our pizza from our favorite local place!

Salad.

Usually, though, we load up pizza with assorted toppings so that it's arguably a complete meal. At least it covers the 4 food groups. I don't think of fries, garlic bread or onion rings as side dishes for a meal of pizza - since I think side dishes should complete a meal to provide a good range from various food groups.

What she said. I think a salad with pizza sounds nice, but DH won't touch salad and DD just licks the dressing off the lettuce, so I can't be bothered.

Another slice of pizza

Actually, we sometimes do have salad with it. Mostly to relieve some of the guilt. But most pizza places don't have great salad (iceburg lettuce with a few shredded carrots, etc.). Iceburg lettuce is just a waste of chewing effort that can better be expended on another slice.
