Here's an idea of how we do things at our house: http://a-home-for-schooling.blogspot.com/

I love your home I like how everything seems low down and the art pieces on the walls are bold and wonderful. In the last pic, is that a bed set on the floor or a bunk bed? It looks cool!

Here's a few of our areas, pictures already need to be updated though for the Main Lesson room:
Craft Room
Main Lesson Room
Reading Room (I am thinking of making a library with a wall of normal shelves and converting this to a bedroom)
Game Closet
Love all your spaces, what a lucky little girl you have She must have some wicked good karma. The loft and craft room are my faves, and if that reading room was in my house, no way I'd change it. Its wonderful!

Thanks!

The last pic is a bunk bed (from Ikea). They don't sleep here but it's used for MANY imaginative games.

starlein26, where did you buy your artwork? I swear I have seen something similar but can't think where. I love it!

This is our space....we just moved in about a month ago (and have had visitor, sickness and LIFE get in the way)...so it isn't finished.

Curriculum-related (and most non-fiction) books are on the big black bookshelf.

All crafts and manipulatives on the heavy shelves.

Fiction on the smaller shelves.

Thank you all so much for sharing!!! You all have beautiful homes and there is such talent and creativity here!!

Of course, now that I've seen and heard how all of you organize your space, I'm feeling envious and incompetent

I've done a lot of work this weekend trying to pull stuff together so I'll try to take pics later and post. Our space comes nowhere NEAR all of your lovely spaces but it's a work in progress

We have extremely limited space in less then 900 square feet (and 5 occupants) so this was the best way i could keep a creative learning space for my girls.

Storage
Art Area
Play/growth area

Its wonderful what you've done with your space! I'm totally inspired. We're getting ready to move into our first house and I hope I succeed in using our space at least half as well as you have yours.

i love seeing all your beautiful hs areas! and we are living in a 900 sq place as well, so glad to see that someone is making it work . i am inspired now to do some tidying up. we just moved here and i have been overwhelmed by just moving. we really need more storage, definitely some shelving, and way more room for books.
