Cliffnotes: What do I need to know for UC? My DH is a paramedic and views CB as something requiring atleast medical observation.
So far we have had a completely unassisted pregnancy. I purchased a blood pressure cuff, fetoscope, nutrition software (not taking prenatals), and some urine test strips. The only medication I've taken has been Unisom due to being unable to keep any food down at all.
The UP seems much easier than the UC, but I realize that by having an UP, part of that is UC. I just dont know where to start for the UC. Is there a book you can recommend? How do we know if we need to transfer to the hospital (not against this by any means)? What situations are safe to manage at home? Where do I get the herbs that stop bleeding?
My husband is a paramedic and is totally fine with the UP, but looks at birth as requireing medical treatment. When he did his clinicals in the L&D, the doctor told him there was no reason for any medical personel to be around for 98% of births. He is stuck on that 2% that truely need medical interventions. I equated this to eating for him: people eat every day...it is a normal, natural process, but once in a while someone will choke, go unconscous and need medical treatment. I dont know how else to help him relax about this. Anyone else have DH's with medical training? How did it go?
Sorry this got so long and TIA!!!

And he totally advocates homebirth. So needless to say our 2nd UC was a given, he never even questioned it.
