Cloth diaper babes

Anyone with toddlers in cloth diapers and that you try to change the diaper as soon as it gets wet? If so, how many times per day (24 hour period) do you find yourself changing it?

I feel like all I do All. Day. Long. is nurse and change diapers/EC potty!

Hmm. My daughter turned 2 a few months ago. We've been doing EC most of the time since she was 3 months old. She's gone through phases when she is near 100% with the potty, but not now, for whatever reason (I'm pregnant, therefore more tired and distracted than usual, she's been sick, etc.) She does always go to the potty for poos, though, which is a very good thing.

When she was younger, she used to pee 20+ times in 24 hours. Now, I think it's more like 8 (on average), and there are days we change her diaper 6 or more times... and I don't EC at night any more, so that's a maximum of 3 diapers from bedtime to waking up in the morning.

ETA: I counted diapers again yesterday (my mother was taking care of her most of the day, so she only used the potty for poo) and it's more like 12 times in 24 hours. I don't understand why she's still peeing so much at night, but there it is.)

How old is your toddler? Pee frequency does decrease, eventually, but then there are bigger, stinkier pees IME.

My DD is 20 months and she wets as often as every 30 minutes to every 2 or so. Yeah there are days when I feel like all I do is change diapers and nurse. I'm glad to hear that someone else has had the experience of a child being pretty much potty trained to regressing. DD2 was doing great, only wearing a diaper at night and now has lots of accidents and rarely asks for the potty. If I ask her she says no and 5 minutes later pees on the carpet.

Katie, we didn't EC but when we did potty train DD at 23 months, it took several months for her to actually tell us when she had to go. Until that point, every time I asked (without exception) she'd tell me no. I took her anyway, because I could tell that she needed to go. Eventually she figured it out, but it was a simple way to avoid accidents.

I ec'd my first, and she hit the "you can't make me go" phase about the same time. She had been 95+% relable since about 7 months. So, I just put her back in diapers for a while. At 27 months, she was able to completely dress and undress herself, so I put a little potty in the living room and casuallly said, "You know, if you have to potty, you can go in there if you want." 3 days later I inroduced her to the step stool in the bathroom in the same way, and she's been a pro ever sice. Zero accidents. She just wanted to be in control if it.

Back on topic, I'd say that mine need changed at least every other hour...so 12 minimum. On average, though, I'd guess we use more like 15 a day.

Odd-Mama out here, but my DD only needs changed 5 times a day on avg. We use bamboo fitteds.

I also dont change diapers all day, with my first she would hold it and only do it 3 or 4 times a day. She was a breeze to PT and it took a day, all I had to do was tell her she could pee in the potty instead of her diaper. She did it and it was done.

With my second he is sort of the same way, he holds it quite well and only does it 3 or 4 times a day. They both drink plenty of water and everything they are just like that. Apparently I was the same way.

21 months, part time EC since 4 months.

We have days where we only use one diaper in 24 hours because she wants to use the potty consistently and we have days when we go through seven or eight diapers because she is feeling contrary. It's a big variation. I'm not sure if I really catch every diaper right when she pees, but I try!
