Its no weirder than cow's milk-based formula But there are goat colostrum supplements, too.

Didn't read all the replies, but no, that did not influence my decision.

Since my decision is based on the safety of vaccines, their ingredients, and their effect on the immune system in a negative way, whether my kids are BFd or not makes no difference to me.

for the record:

DS1-BFed with some formula until 4 months, where he went to exclusively FF.

DS2-BFed exclusivley until 11 months, where he went to some formula until a year, where he went to Soy.

FWIW, I am not breastfeeding at all at this point. It didnt work out, and my daughter is doing fabulously on formula. That said, I will not be vaccinating her ... and has nothing to do with being ff or bf. I would have made the same choice regardless.

For what it's worth it didn't work out for my daughter and I which sucked but I have gotten to a place where I have forgiven myself and I don't make apologies for it. And she is very very healthy, bright and lovely.

And we don't vax, the formula didn't affect that decision for us either.

my ds was vaxed until 9 months and was both bf and ff, and he didn't have any immune issues. One of the main reasons i stopped vaxing was because that was the only time he would get a fever was after a vax. He only has had 1 ear infection which was when he was 2 1/2 and had been weaned 3 months earlier and we went to india. SO as long as you baby is getting some breastmilk she is still getting the immunity benefits.
