Jezebel

I'm consistently disappointed with my Jezebel. It's a website about "Sex. Fashion. Celebrity. Without airbrushing." that's supposed to be pro-woman, feministy, etc. But, yet, every time something comes up about breastfeeding, mothering, most recently it was baby wearing. Apparently, it's cool to slam it because it's just something that "trendy" parents do... and it's so "dangerous" for the baby, and probably totally uncomfortable, in so many words. Ugh. Oh, and don't even get me started on the constant rails against Jenny McCarthy/the pro-vaccination stance of the site, or of the OMG homeschoolerz R teh fReeKz how r the gunna be socailizd??!1 responses... just recently i saw commenters agreeing that homeschooling parents should be investigated for wanting to do so!

Does anyone have any suggestions about websites to go to that have a feminist perspective but are fun, ap minded, and feature light pop culture stuff? Am I asking the world here?

Yeah I read Jezebel a few times a week. I hate it when they talk about stuff like that. I try to not read the comments, but sometimes I like to read how misguided some people are. I just skip over those stories and get to the celebrity gossip and some of the other good stuff on there. I know how you feel, though. It's rare that there are really good feminist articles on there.

Please remember that discussing the comments is considered discussing another online community and as such, is against the UA. Feel free to discuss the actual blog though.

I like The Hathor Legacy for feminist dicussion of books, TV, etc. I haven't seen too many things that do touch on AP, but that's fine with me, too, no chance for them to offend me and turn me off. Some discussions are random (or Canadian ) but it's all pretty good!
