anyone ever had one? how did it resolve? what did you do to remedy it?

I used to get them frequently when my son was around 12-18 mos. I called my local LLL...I ended up "popping" it with a sterilized needle (she said that is not the official treatment, but often the only one that works!) It did help a lot, although I found it would reform really quickly. Using a tiny amount of APNO (All Purpose Nipple Ointment- which is by prescription) or Lansinoh before feeding did help to prevent it from reforming.

i tried the unofficial surgical treatment last night, and the problem is that it is not protruding above the surface. it is under the skin.
i tried a hot salt water compress and hot shower.
it's pretty painful!
i will try lansinoh also
