Psoriasis on nipples

Has anyone dealt with psoriasis on their nipples while bfing? DS nurses a lot and my nipples crack, bleed, and become excruciatingly painful. I have been using prescription "all purpose nipple ointment" which contains some form of cortizone to get by, but it only works if I apply it frequently and I'm running out. He is nowhere ready to wean so I need to keep the psoriasis in check. I'd rather avoid pharmaceuticals and treat the cause, but have not found good info on how to do this.
Any thoughts would be greatfully accepted.

I don't have much advice for you sorry but wanted to offfer a

My Dh had/has psoriasis for 20 years that covered 70% of his body. He's now on Humira injections. It has been a wonder drug for him but I understand you not wanting to use pharmaceuticals while nursing.

Have you tried the E45 emolient bath oil? I don't know if it's sold in the US but it might help to keep your skin from cracking. Or add some generic aqueos (SP?) cream to the bath water.

We tried lots of 'natural' remedies here but nothing worked. DH's case was severe though. Sunlight does help alot of people but of course tanning beds carry their own risks. Have you tried fish oil?

Thanks welsh. My case is nowhere near as bad as 70%, but it really makes nursing unpleasant.
Do you mean ingesting fish oil or applying it?
