vaccine requirements for pre-school and elementary info needed please

i know this info is here, but as we are now actually approaching applying for pre-school soon, it is now all becoming a bit confusing to me. please help me sort my brain

i am interested in illinois and new york state requirements for schools. specifically illinois for pre-school and ny for elementary.

my son is almost 2 and unvaxed. we are trying to make a decision to either start vaxes at 2 or not do them at all. if we start at 2, we will obviously not be done until kindergarten starts. therefore he would not be fully vaxed for preschool-what sort of problems does this present? can he not go to pre-school if we start vaccinating?

i also found this site
http://www.health.state.ny.us/publications/2370.pdf

regarding ny school requirements, and someone please correct me if im wrong-but it seems as though hep. A is not required for school entry and possibly chickenpox until 6th grade???is this true?

i can not find requirements for illinois...anyone?

and lastly, there is a chance that he may go to private schooling for elementary and thereafter-is it very difficult to get an exemption for provate schools or will he have to be vaccinated?

thank you so much for your help in advance! i really need it! after 2 years of research and no decision-i am really going in circles here!

Illinois and NY laws:

http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Laws/sta...s/newyork.aspx

Illinois exemptions include public, private and nursery schools however
Quote:
For the purposes of this Section, "nursery schools" means those nursery schools operated by elementary school systems or secondary level school units or institutions of higher learning.
so a private nursery/preschool it would seem would not have to except an exemption. Maybe someone who has experience getting an exemption for preschool in IL will weigh in.

NY exemptions:
Quote:
The term "school" means and includes any public, private or parochial child caring center, day nursery, day care agency, nursery school, kindergarten, elementary, intermediate or secondary school.
In both NY and iL, you cannot do some vaccines and not others. If you file a religiuus exemption it must be to the practice of vaccination. A child can be vaccinated previously and you could have had a change in your beliefs. NY is VERY hard when it comes to exemptions, some districts being tougher than others. I would contact Gary Krasner for help in NY. Gary Krasner,

marnica, thank you! yes i do have that attorneys info on hand in case ny. so i guess the only way to find out if a preschool will accept our exemption, is to fill it out, send in and see?? is it completely moronic to ask them if they accept these sorts of things, or ask them if they receive public funding? that would make a difference, correct?

I would just fill out the exemption and send it it...know the law.
In terms of asking about public funding It doesn't make a difference except it would seem and Im not 100% on this) for private nursery schools....the law is written that it applies to public and private institutions in NY and IL.
