can inversions/webster/moxi be a prob if babe ISNT breech?

So,...another breech post..sorry people

I am 99% sure baby is still breech, tonight it did some kind of massive movement that took my breath away but im sure it just moved from the right side to left as im quite the pro at finding its big head now and as I say im 99% its still the head I feel way up high.

I have a chiro. app. on wednesday (#4 session of Webster Tech.) and I have an accupuncture app. for Saturday to try Moxibustion.

I asked at the birth center today whether I could come in on Friday and just be quickly checked to determine for sure that baby is still breech (so I dont go and waste the $100 that the accupuncturist charges) they said they had no appointments I am to call back on Thurs to see if anyone cancelled.

My question is, since im almost positive should I just go ahead with the accupuncture anyway? could it have a negative affect IF baby is head down? (thats a BIG 'if' )

Knowing me i'll be trying to get baby to shift when its already head down

i don't know about the moxi but i am 99% sure the other stuff won't hurt.. my chiro is doing some webster stuff on me now and i'm only ~14 weeks .. he said it helps with general positioning stuff and keeping everything aligned , not just turning baby.. we continued after my last baby flipped too and he was in a much better position than his sister..(and i have scoliosis, so my hips are .. tilted. i need all the help i can get with positioning!) i think most of the other spinning babies things are good for positing and not just flipping too, for me, i kept up everything until i delivered DS and this time, i plan to start a lot of the exercises in addition to webster around 25 weeks.. can your chiro or acupuncturist tell if your baby is head down? (mine could tell as well asmy OB could , might be worth asking?) i would want to double check before dropping 100$ on acupuncture too, but i would def. continue the free stuff and the webster ..

When I was trying desperately to turn DD#2 from transverse breech, my MW told me that if I felt the baby turn to STOP all of the stuff I was doing so that she wouldn't turn back (pressure which only added to my stress). I even had one of my providers (can't remember if it was chiro or accupuncturist) say that s/he thought the baby had turned and I recall that I did pop by the office for a quick US to check the position (my MW works with an OB group and they had an in-office US). It was a false alarm though, and TBH I don't know if their belief that babe would turn back was accurate ot not, it's just what I was advised at the time...she never turned though so I didn't have to worry about her turning back

I think webster is good stuff even if the baby isn't breech. I've been getting it because I'm "constrained" but the baby, I'm pretty sure, is head down.

I think its like anything else - it will only 'work' if it needs to work. So if baby isn't breech, then it won't harm...just your bank account if you can't get an appointment to check for sure!

But try not to stress - because babies can often (and do) turn during labour (even if they were in a fantastic position before hand! lmao).
And if they don't - perhaps its best to do a bit of research on birthing a breech baby just to put your mind at ease.

My baby is currently breech and my accupuncturist is willing to do moxo for me but not this early on (I am 36 weeks - thats too early to fuss about it, espeically for a second). I can't afford to be adding on things like Webster as well lol! This baby clearly has plenty of room to move about being much smaller than my son and swimming in plenty of fluid - so I have this feeling that even if they were breech right up until I went into labour, they would still have room to flip themselves about. But if not, I have told my MW (and shes pretty supportive and okay with this too!) that if the baby is still breech, it won't change my plans for a homebirth - Ive dont my research on breech birth and am pretty comfortable with the fact that its just a variation of normal.

spinning babies states that inversions are fine when baby is in ANY position, because they are good for stretching those long ligaments which encourage baby to settle in head down. maybe b/c you only do them for a couple of minutes at a time, they aren't going to make baby want to flip back? that said, my MWs advised me to hold off once my baby flipped, b/c they said they wanted to see him/her settled down into my pelvis more...

anne, both my MWs and acupuncturist said moxibustion is best begun in week 34 or 35, while baby has plenty of room still, fwiw....

Oh, how I wish I could have a breech at home with a midwife.
Ours are not allowed to knowingly attend, and there aren't rogue midwives (the College is pretty strong).
