Dairy challenge- different reactions possible?

I went off of dairy and have been very strict about it for about 3.5 weeks. DS has had sleep problems for months and silent reflux. Eliminating dairy has not brought about any changes in sleep or reflux that we could tell. However, today DS had a bad day of severe vomiting (I posted in LWAB) and I can't figure out the cause- which is probably pretty common but I was wondering if it was possible that I could have inadvertently gotten a small amount of dairy in something? If so it would have been a very small amount.

The thing is DS has never vomited before today (he is 7.5 months). Would it be possible to have such a different reaction to a tiny amount of dairy? I used to eat a good amount of dairy daily and he never had problems like this. I haven't challenged dairy yet as we are on vacation and I know the real test will have to wait for our return to normal routine.

Yes it is possible. I trialed eggs with DS and he had a stomachache from it. Two months later I trialed eggs again with him, and he vomited. A lot of times if you take a food out, the reaction is stronger when you reintroduce it. If dairy hasn't eliminated the symptoms, then it's possible that it's dairy AND something else (gluten, soy, and corn are other top contenders). And if you're on vacation and eating out a lot, cross contamination or indadvertant dairy is likely, unfortunately.

YES! Dd and I just trialed eggs and I had reflux from them, I used to get gallbladder pain. Dd's reaction symptoms were the same as previous trials.
