MDC stupidist question of the night!!! - Page 4

I just wish ppl would be truthful and instead of giving themselves a title just say they don't eat a lot of animals. Or they don't eat cows. Or they don't eat any cows or birds but they eat fish. Or they don't eat a lot of cows but they eat chickens. Like it's that much harder to be clear from the get go instead of claiming to be something they aren't and then having to back pedal. It's so frustrating!

Vegetarians don't eat meat. Ergo, they can eat fish. In some people's minds. Maybe that's where it comes from?

Spliceing words, but you mean that Catholics couldn't eat meat on Friday except for fish.

the fake vegetarian thing is a pet peve of mine because it makes things so, so, so very hard on the rest of us.

No, I meant what I said, that we are not allowed eat meat on Fridays. But we are allowed eat fish.

The Church's semantics, not mine. I was just explaining why some people call themselves vegetarian but eat fish.

This is just a discrepancy as to what the definition of the word "meat" is, when it comes down to it.

In my book, fish is meat, so "no meat on Fridays" INCLUDES fish. But the church's definition of meat does not match mine, so it causes confusion, kwim?

caiesmommy, Fish can blink? Lol. Who knew. I like that though

My DH is a vegetarian that will occasionally flex and eat fish if there is no other available option. It's pretty rare though so calling him a pescatarian would be misleading I think.

I am a "flexatrian" I guess. I was a vegetarian for a long time and I don't cook meat so most people call us both vegetarians even though I really am not as I will eat most things these days.

As I only prepare vegetarian food for my family, I frequent ve*an boards and use ve*an cookbooks.
