Mercola's Anti-A Article

Mercola's latest article on viamins A & D.

Soooo, since we take Blue Ice Fermented CLO, which has naturally occurring vitamins, plus, we take extra vitamin D - I'm thinking this doesn't apply to *our* situation...

I think the WAPF just responded to Dr. Cannell's study, right? I wonder what their response will be to this one...

Dr mercola says that CLO is bad in his article and is not separating synthetic CLO with good stuff like the fermented kind even though the kind in fermented CLO is retinol, but it is pure. Yes, waiting for WAPF say on it. I will still be taking my Blue Ice CLO, liver, and grass fed butter until then:

Vitamin A production is tightly controlled in your body. The substrate, or source of the vitamin A, are carotenoids from vegetables in your intestine. Your body converts these carotenoid substrates to exactly the right amount of retinol. However, when you take vitamin A as retinol directly, such as in cod liver oil, you bypass all the natural controls in this closed system.

Being a parent who's seen frank symptoms of vitamin A deficiency in both her children, and has seen them go away with vitamin A supplementation, the whole "you'll get plenty of A from vegetables" argument seems particularly weak. Vegetables provide many wonderful things, but I don't think we can count on them for A.

I mis-read the table, I need to look at it again, it's more interesting than I thought....
