I cannot believe how excited I am over this, I have to share!

I generally have long cycles (anywhere from 65-90 days) and this cycle, I'm using the CBEFM as well as charting. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/44ec5

I'm on CD 18 and got a high reading on the monitor!!! My CM is matching up so far too! I ran in and jumped on the bed to wake up DH to tell him and he seemed confused as to why I was so excited LOL I know it could be a fluke because last cycle, I only had a 6 day LP but everything about that cycle was strange (VERY light period and very short cycle). I so hope that this isn't going to be the case again. I had a normal period this time around. Here's to hoping that I get a Peak reading soon, normal length LP and BFP soon! I'd be due around my birthday!

I had to share with people who would understand my excitement at a high reading and hope of a peak soon, without waiting months on end!!

~mama to DS 4.5, DD would be almost 3, DS almost 2

good luck 2 u!!! don't go full force on the bd though bc my first couple of cycles i had 8-9 days of high readings before i peaked and then we were all out of bd enthusiasm by the time i peaked. i would cross reference with opks to make sure that u get ur bding in on the right days!

I have not tried the CBEFM but have read a lot that have high readings for quite a few days.

Yep, agreed...I've gotten 2 weeks, yes 2 weeks of high before going to low because it had already asked for 20 sticks (cbefm is programmed to only ask for 20 sticks in a cycle, once you reach that it stops). I ended up Ovulating 5 days in which was confirmed by opk, temps and ultrasound, but cbefm didn't pick up on it b/c the estrogen levels didn't reach what it was programed to give the 'peak' reading (I had to have CBEFM analyze my data to get that info). If I wasn't charting or doing opk's I would have totally missed my fertile period!

edit: I just went back and read your original post again and wanted to mention that it recommends you use the cbefm for cycles not exceeding 40-41 days b/c it is not equipped to handle longer cycles. There are some ways around this that other women have found such as not starting it till you're farther along in the cycle and what not, but I wanted to mention that just so that you could find out the best way to use it since your 60 - 90 day cycles are much longer than what it is made for

on the High read. It is exciting to see after so many Lows

Do want to second (and third) what other's have said- esp if you are new to the CBEFM, you might not see your peak this month. Looks like you are almost to the end of your 20 day test window.

I used the monitor pre-DD, but did a reset when I started using it again last month (so it is like I'm a new monitor user). I'm on my second month of no peak. Day 12 of "High" (after a while, it stops being exciting to see that High ).

It takes a few months to get in sync with your levels, esp if you have irregular cycles. I had irregular, long cycles when I used it pre-DD and it took one month of wacky readings and then was spot on, with 3 days of High, then to Peak.

Second what MFG said about the monitor not being designed to handle longer cycles- like she said, it will only let you test for 20 days per month. It will start asking for sticks on CD6 or CD9 (probably CD9 in your case, since it "knows" it took so long for you to get a high). If you know you always O late, you can still use the monitor by tricking into thinking you are on a different CD- say, you want to start testing on CD15, then you tell the monitor CD14 is your CD5- does that make sense? Sorry if you already know this, I didn't until recently

Its a great sign that your CM is matching up! Hope you see that Peak this month!

I used the monitor to conceive our 3rd child and just reset it in the middle of the cycle (I just reset it on Sunday so it thinks this is CD 7 instead of CD 18, which it actually is). I have to be tricky! I started it took late last cycle so this time, I decided to use it the entire time and just reset it in the middle and did so just in time, I guess!

When I was using it before, I was always able to get a peak reading so my fingers are crossed that it'll work this round too. Here's to hoping! Thanks for all the input!
