The Law of Diminishing Space

Is it just me, or does it seem to be a universal law that the smallest being in the bed takes up the most space?

I just checked on DH and DD, still asleep. About 1/4 of DH was hanging off the side of the queen bed, with DD jammed up against him on his other side, with the remaining 2/3 of the bed completely open.

I've noticed this with cats as well. How can a tiny cat take up so much space on the bed???

I share a king sized bed with the baby, just me and her, and still get kicked in the head all night long.

We bought a king earlier this year. We were THRILLED. We had previously had a full.

My son sees this as an invitation to stretch himself as far as he possibly can, horizontally in the bed.

The little dude seriously takes up 90% of the bed. I'm convinced if we had a custom made bed that's twice as large as a king, he'd still find a way to somehow stretch himself across the majority of it.

I almost wish my little people were my bed hogs, they are easier to move lol It is my husband who has half the king size bed with DS, DD and I all smashed on the edge. Unfortunately he is to heavy for me to move so we all get no sleep while he snores away.

YES! I even tried one night to go around to the other side of the bed when he was crowding me off the bed and he woke up and yelled at me to go back on MY SIDE! (Little man is very black and white about the rules of the world as he understands them.) He usually starts out fine on his side with one pillow, but by morning he tends to either be curled up against my back like a cat, or sleeping using my stomach as a pillow. Oh well.

I think even if I had a California king, he'd be pushing me off the bed. Why am I always tired again????

So true! Last night, I even booted my DH out of the bed (he just couldn't stop snoring) and slid the baby over...I still ended up teetering on the edge of the bed with her warm little body curled up against me.

we make an "H" when we sleep: Husband hanging off one side of the bed, 11month old laying perpendicular to us, then me hanging off the other side. DSs feet touch me, his head touches my DH. i dont know HOW that happens!
