I was so excited to see an altnative to dairy or soy protein powder. So, I got several packets of Jay Robb Egg White Protein Powder. Reading the ingredients, it says: "natural flavor".

So I called the company to see what exactly the natural flavor was derived from. I was told it was "proprietary information", i.e. they would not reveal what it was. I said I'm feeding a food-sensitive child and need to know what it is -- is it derived from animal or plant? She assured me it was "natural" and not a chemical. And said that Jay Robb has decided "not to reveal these flavors". I told her that many "natural" things can still be bad for some people.

Has anyone else ever come across this? Not to even be told at least if the flavor was derived from plant or animal? I've never come across this in all the time I've called companies inquiring about ingredients...
