thrush after antibiotics ?

My sweet baby was on super heavy-duty antibiotics (IV at the hospital) and then oral ones for another 4 days. He had a rare flesh-eating bacteria, and needed 3 surgeries too! This was during his second week after birth. He is now 5weeks old (2.5 off antibiotics). He is now thriving, and doing great, never missed a beat with nursing.
I know that thrush often develops after a round of antibiotics, and I've been vigilantly watching for any signs of yucky yeast. My question is how quickly would thrush develop? since it's been almost 3w, are we "in the clear" so to speak? or could it possibly be delayed a few weeks?
I would love to hear about others experiences.

Wow! Congrats on your new baby! I'm so sorry for all the serious illness and I'm so glad everything seems to be OK now! In my experience, thrush seems to develop within a few days of starting the antibiotic, to within a few days of finishing it. I'd honestly guess you guys are in the clear. I think if you are nursing or pumping, you could eat a lot of yogurt, to pass on the cultures to baby. (I'm not sure probiotics do pass through breastmilk but I know some moms think so.)
