Would you buy a used savvyrest mattress?

I'm considering it. I found one on craigslist and they are asking 1/3 of what they paid for it 2 years ago. Does that sound reasonable? The lady said her husband couldn't get used to it, which is actually something I'm concerned about as well. If I buy new (way more $) I could return it if it didn't work out. I could sell this if it didn't work out but I'm guessing I would lose money. I'm pg so I'm trying to be wise with the funds, yk? Are there any good organic mattresses for less than $1000? Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA!

Personally I'd be very hesitant to purchase a used mattress, unless I knew the owners pretty well. There are so many potential issues like bedbugs, not to mention that well, we all know what activities take place on a mattress and I wouldn't want to be sleeping on someone else's um, stuff!

I bought a used Tempurpedic from someone we know (but didn't know well). $400 for a King-sized that was only two years old. Best money I ever spent.

Yeah, I know people "do stuff" in beds. But they do it in hotel rooms, too, and I still sleep there on occasion.

It seems like a deal, but I think my squeam factor would be too strong. Its not like you can wash it you know?

I have cleaned several mattresses over the years with the handheld attachment of a carpet cleaner...including the Tempurpedic we have at present.

both the wool and the latex are bug resistant in a Savvy Rest and there is very little cotton. i would never buy a toxic mattress used as you are buying something that is potentially already breaking down and releasing poison dust in your home (SVOCs) but for a good quality organic latex mattress, I would....
