ammonia smell?

okay, I am in MenoP (yeah, I'm an old mdcer) and one of the side effects (i've heard from friends) is sinus issues up the wazooo. And I have had my share of them in the last couple of months.

For the most part in the last 2 weeks I seem to be free of the sinus stuff...but curiously, when I turn my head down to brush my hair I smell faint ammonia. Why? Anyone?

I have no idea but was intrigued so I googled and every hit seems to suggest a sinus problem.

Get a netti pot and clean those suckers out! (can't hurt)

i had a severe sinus infection after moving into our moldy rental house 1.5 year ago. near the end of it i walked about half a mile up to the store and as soon as i walked in the door my sinuses burned of ammonia. the smell lasted the rest of the day. i lost my sense of smell after that i very little has returned. my allergist was stumped when i mentioned it last month. i'm seeing an ENT on the 1st and i'm hoping they'll be able to tell what caused it. i'm very curious what other have to say about it.
