my guy is 19 months.
needs to be outside 2 hrs (and i try to get 4), and loves to be "in my business." he "helps" me sort invoices and file, and he helps with chores. he also likes to help with laundry. it's not all that helpful, but it's good.
he's very good at just doing next to me, and spending some time playing on his own. and today, when i finished cleaning the dishes at lunch, he wanted more water play, so i set up a little "station" for him on the floor with a bucket and brush (and just water), and he had a fabulous time at it while i did more filing.
so, that can work out.
