I made a 50% vinegar 50% water solution that I've been using as an all-purpose cleaner in the kitchen and for windows. I read something the other day that said that if you use vinegar to clean glass it should be much more diluted (I can't remember the exact proportion and now I can't find the site where I read it) because vinegar can etch glass. Does anyone know if that's true? I was using the 50/50 solution because I'd read in a thread here that if you have hard water, using any less vinegar for windows will leave streaks.
We have some marble around the house and I'm wondering whether vinegar can be used on it? Some of it is well-polished, but a lot of it no longer is and has become pretty porous (stairs and some window sills,) I don't know if that would make a difference.
I've seen a couple of recipes for floor cleaners with vinegar that I'd like to try, but I don't know if it's okay to use on terra cotta floor tiles. I really can't imagine any reason why it wouldn't be, but I thought it might be a good idea to ask first.
Thanks!
