Did my water just break?

I had to pee so I went to the potty and right as I sat down a bunch of fluid came out and made a splash...and then i peed. It wasn't a ton, but it didn't feel like peeing. And now my underwear is pretty soggy...

Sometimes I do leak a little pee but it usually happens when I stand up after peeing. Not when I sit down...and it's a trickle..not splash worthy


I'm not having any real contractions either

OK, it just sat on the toilet again and it happened again and was more this time. Waiting to hear back from MW

I'm not much help. My membranes ruptured with my oldest...a tiny trickle in bed and then I stood up and there was a good gush. My ctx were 5 mins apart pretty much right away so it was totally obvious. Fluid came out w/ each contraction I had (and NO pad, etc. was going to contain it LOL).

Sounds promising though. You didn't see any mucousy looking stuff I assume? Other than mucus plopping out, I can't think of much else it would be. eta: I guess your midwife could check you with those pH papers or whatever it is that they use to figure out if it is amniotic fluid or not.

Crossing my fingers for you that this is it (assuming you are ready!!). Keep us posted if you get a chance

I can't wait to hear! My contrax didn't start until 7 hours after my water broke, but it was very obvious that it was my water and not leaking pee. There was a lot of it and it wouldn't stop. Changing position didn't really seem to matter at all and I had to put a pad on or else my pants would've been soaked. Of course DD's head wasn't engaged and I know that when the baby's head is engaged that can really slow down the flow.

That's how it was for me this time when my water broke...not the huge pop and gush from my first labor...so yep I think your water has broken! For what it's worth, I noticed the "leakage" around 8:30 and had dd just under 3 hours later...so GOOD LUCK and speedy labor to you!

It was! But I didn't have him until 5am on Friday! Looong labor. Will post birth story when I have some spare time.
