Nutritional content of placenta?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but I am trying to figure out if there is any info out there on what the nutritional content is in a human placenta. My midwife encapsulated mine for me and I did not end up taking very many of them early on. I was only taking them on the days that I was feeling "blue". So now baby is 5mos, and I have a bunch of placenta capsules left. I also have prenatal vitamins left and I am wondering if I should take one or the other, or both. I basically don't want to waste either of them by taking both at the same time if they have a lot of the same content. Everything I have found to read about the placenta just describes it as "very nutrient rich". I realize that each woman's placenta would be a bit different, but am wondering if there have been studies on them pointing to a tendency for them being high in any specific nutrients.

Found this. Not sure how helpful it will be since data is given in parts per million. Interesting though.

Ooh very interesting - thanks! I don't know what to make out of the ppm either, but still, I can tell there's more of some things than others. It strikes me as pretty funny that the point of this study is to see whether it makes sense to use it in animal food, rather than whether it makes sense for a mother to consume it herself. Whatever. I had to put my capsules in a drawer cause my cats wouldn't quit trying to get at them in their package on the counter. So I guess it is probably good for them, but seems like a waste if it's just because people think it's gross for some reason for a mother to consume her own.
