What's your favorite BF resource book?

I am adding a few breastfeeding books to my registry and I'd like to get some recommendations from some of you. I really like Jack Newman's philosophy, but he has several different books. Is there one of his books that you found most helpful? What about other authors? TIA!

I just finished reading Ina May's Guide to Breastfeeding, and I really learned a lot from it. I wish it had come out before my son was born.

I also highly recommend The Nursing Mother's Companion by Kathleen Huggins.

I like Breastfeeding Made Simple. info here

It is great for all readers, but definitely great for people new to breastfeeding because it breaks things down and gets back to the simpler more natural side of breastfeeding. It isn't a resource book like Dr Newman's, but I find it has a lot of useful info and is one in my library that I like to share with friends.

It has been a very long time, but one of my faves was The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, the LLL book. I had another one I really liked, but cannot remember the title.

I just checked on Amazon and it may have been The Nursing Mother's Companion by Kathleen Huggins. The cover looks different, I gave my old books away, but that title seems very familiar. Anyway, I'll say another mom who liked that book, as I am pretty sure that was it.

I love Jack Newman's book (I have this one http://www.amazon.ca/Jack-Newmans-Gd...8925994&sr=1-3). I don't find it a good reference, but more of a philosophical read. I get frustrated trying to get succinct info out of it in a hurry (which is why I wouldn't call it a reference text.)

My favorite one was "The Milk Memos" by Cate Colburn-Smith and Andrea Serrette. It's a great book if you're planning to work outside the home while you are still nursing. It helped out a lot when I returned to work. Even if you're not going to be working outside the home, it's still a good read & has a lot of good information on nursing and pumping.

I really really like: "so that's what they're for"

The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is probably my favorite all-around guide. It is the first place I go when I need to look something up.

Ditto this, I really enjoyed this book at it gives a good overview of a lot of different attitudes, challenges, etc. of working and pumping. It definitely helped me prepare and succeed in pumping at work.

Bestfeeding. I read up to 20 books about breastfeeding, including most mentioned here, and it is absolutely my favorite.

I've given it as gifts a few times as well.
