Hi. I was just hoping to chat with other education majors. I am in my second semester of a a M. of Sec. Ed with an emphasis in biology. It has been one crazy semester. How is everyone else doing?

I'm in an alternative licensure program for secondary education. I only took one class this semester since I had a new baby in February; initially my professor suggested I take the semester off, but she has since complimented my work and told me she's glad I persisted. I want to take two classes this summer so that I can student teach in the fall, though I know it will be crazy since I'll also be balancing the newborn with various activities for my 7-year-old.

I will be taking 3 classes this summer in order to student teach in fall. It will be insane. But I am so ready to just be done with the program. I am still debating over how big of a difference graduating in December would be versus graduating in May since I will be trying to balance school full time with my dd home and in various activities this summer as well.

In addition to the certification work, I'm getting my PhD and substitute teaching part-time. Since I'm on maternity leave through the end of this calendar year, I really want to get my certification done by December so that I can clear my plate a little.

I'm just glad that my classes this summer will be online since it should allow me to work from anywhere, even when I'm hanging out and waiting for my older son's activities to finish up. (Except for the pool, most likely.)

Wow! Sounds like you are busy, busy too. I am excited to find other ed majors here.

Im just finishing up student teaching... Im post-bac certificate in secondary education... CTE certificate/career and techincal education (career change from years in business). I will probably go back to subbing for awhile, I had a horrible student teaching experience and it has honestly left me questioning my entire career change decision.

I'm an education major, but haven't gotten into my core classes yet. Debating about how hard to hit it this summer, since I'm supposed to jump up to full time. But three classes has been busy enough, so it worries me. I'm trying to find what classes will best fit my schedule and still get me the credits I'm looking for.

I am really worried about student teaching. Was it a bad experience because of your cooperating teacher or other things?
