TY everyone, my DH hid all DS's forks & spoons (seriously, I bought him about 10 for Christmas and I haven't been able to find even ONE in weeks) but he's actually pretty good with utensils, guess I'll have to bug DH or buy more... And I'll definitely have to remember to strip him down to the diaper for messy meals. We do have a dog who does a great job of cleaning the floor it's just DS's face & the highchair tray that get messy & I hate messiness even though I keep telling myself it's no big deal. Or DH will take him out & I find the highchair the next day still a total mess... *sigh*

We definitely aren't forcing the potty issue, we've actually only tried to put him on it 2 or 3 times ever... he's very interested in it & in potty time in general, and likes to play with it, I'm not in a rush to potty train, he just seemed interested and I wasn't sure if we needed to try a different kind of potty or something, I guess we'll just give him more time.

Thanks for all the tips on the grocery issue, he's *almost* at the point that he can start 'helping' but not quite there yet, so I imagine it will be much easier when he's just a little older!

I guess we're doing fine as far as how long meals last... He just isn't overly interested in food I guess. Well he's interested in it, just not so much in EATING it! Sometimes he likes to walk around with his food but I don't like that for many reasons... I'd like him to learn that we only eat sitting down. He starts dropping food from the beginning of the meal, even if he's hungry, so it's a little unclear sometimes when he's really 'done' but he does say 'out' when he wants to get out of the highchair so I try to respect that. But sometimes I'm done & he's still sitting there playing with his food & eating occasional bites & I'm never sure if I should take him out or just let him keep playing/eating so I usually just take him out. He asks for food when he wants it & we aren't a "3 meals a day" house so I guess we're doing ok
