Does castile soap go bad?

I want to buy a gallon of castile soap. Does castile soap go bad ever? If so, after how long? I found a bottle that is a couple of years old and it smells a little funky. Maybe I'm paranoid.

I don't think it does. I'm a bit of a soaper, and in my experience, lye makes it an inhospitable environment. Though this is just what i always believed. Hopefully someone can tell you for sure. Not sure why your soap smells bad.

I have enough Dr. Bronner's to last me until the next millenia--i HOPE it doesn't go bad!

I read on Dr. Bronner's website once that the soaps do not go bad, but they may become discolored or cloudy. They rec'd simply shake to redistribute and reuse.
