You will need to claim a religious exemption if you will not be vaccinating anymore.....one can vax and stop...after all you can have a change in your religious beliefs at any time. Once you claim a religious exemption however, you cannot go back and do any vaxes.....

You are allowed to have a religious epiphany at any time in your life. You just had yours after you started vaccinating and now that you have seen the light, you're going to stop...simple!

To be clear, you can go back and do vaxes again even after a religious exemption - the thing is that you can't THEN claim another exemption And you can't selectively vaccinate after the exemption. But you bet your bootie they will let you vaccinate even after an exemption

The school doesn't even need to know the kids have had vaxxes. Just turn in your exemption form, and leave it at that.

thanks i think ill start with not telling them at all see how that goes

I was honest on the school form and then signed the exemption because my state pulls vax records and the exemption form asked for the vax history. So I was honest about what they had gotten and then just signed the exemption form.

Doesn't it depend on where you live? I think here in Texas you can also claim a philosophical exemption, which would be more accurate, wouldn't it? I'm not certain since my kids are homeschooled, though.

Yep. I just got the form this week. You can claim an exemption for "reasons of conscience" and specify which vaccines you object to. If you change your mind, just do a new form. In TX, previously existing religious exemptions are valid for life and grandfathered in; the current exemption for reasons of conscience must be renewed every 2 years, fwiw.

I dont know how old your kids are but you can even get their titers done to prove they have antibodies to the vaccines. Why would they need more vaccines if they responded to what they already have gotten. I am not 100% sure if it would shut them up but maybe.

If your kids haven't been in school yet, you could just leave the form blank and then sign the exemption waiver part. That keeps them from being confused. That's what I did at ds's second preschool (because he was only partially vax'ed and they'd kept calling when he was at the previous preschool to remind me to catch him up, even though I'd signed the philisophical exemption waiver). I think the law varies by state though.

Mississippi and West Virginia DO NOT allow religious exemptions. You have to have a doctor state a medical reason.

I just did a google search to verify this, since I was trying to remember f New Jersey was one also (it's not), and came by this handy-dandy "chart" that clearly shows which states allow which exemptions:

Im in CA and we just moved. Both districts "require" immunization records to attend OR a waiver/exemption. First school district was easy. They made me to go to the district nurse for a signed waiver. She asked why, I read her section 6051 of the law. She gritted her teeth and signed the paper.

Next district (20 mins away) was a pain in my butt. The enrollment office lady had it out for me so she was doing everything she could to be difficult until I busted out the law info. Then she "had to make a phone call." Then they made my new address the problem instead when they couldnt do anything about the vaccines, I went back THREE times and still had issues so I sent my husband to handle the address aspect. It worked because she didnt connect us together and the same damn papers I brought worked fine for him. Whatever. He's enrolled.

Even the first day of school (2 days ago) the actual school office lady hands me an envelope and says "this is from the district office." It was THREE copies of this paper that says my child is endangering the whole school. (Rolls eyes.) A paper originally written by Gray Davis, a politician in California a decade ago. Umm, yeah.

Be PREPARED with law info is my suggestion.
