Soy-free sources of protein for smoothies?

What are your favorite sources of protein for smoothies?

And what are good, safe, healthy protein powders?

Thank you!

I use whey, but it's from milk so it's not vegan. I think it's pretty healthy though some people might not agree with me. I tolerate it and since I don't like hemp, don't want soy, it seems a good match for me.

I have tried just about every vegan protein powder out there and have to say I think hemp is by far my favorite. The rice based ones were not good at all. I started using hemp when I decided to remove processed soy from my diet.

I really like Manitoba Harvest Hemp Pro 70. It's like gritty like other hemp protein.

Yup, another hemp fan here.

I use brewers yeast, hemp protein, sunflower seeds, and other nuts/nut butters. Cashews are really good. Together this has a ton of protein.

I like Warrior Food by Healthforce Nutritionals ( www.healthforce.com ). It is brown rice and hemp protein, and unlike other brown rice protein powders it is smooth and mild tasting.

I use Hemp seeds in my smoothies. The vitamix makes it super smooth and creamy. Yum!! I don't like Hemp powder but I love the seeds. My 3 yr old eats it by the spoonful.

I'm a fan of hemp seeds, brewer's yeast and avocado in smoothies...any nuts and seeds really.

When I'm making green smoothies, I only use fruit, greens, and blue-green algae. There's a good amount of protein in a bunch of kale.

My favorite for post-workout smoothies is hemp (sweet and nutty!), occasionally golden flax. When I want to splurge, Nutiva makes these hemp-based mixes with superfoods that I can get at wholesale through a co-op with friends.
