Traditional food as gifts??

In my church, people are constantly bringing us plates of brownies, cupcakes, sweet bread, etc. What are your favorite TRADITIONAL foods you give as gifts? I'm hoping to find something easy to make, so I can make it quickly if I'm visiting someone with little notice.

In the same vein, what are good appetizers you bring to potlucks/parties?

I have given saurkraut, pickles, no-knead artisan bread, and NT crispy rosemary walnuts as gifts...All have been well received My dh brews his own beer and people really like when he brings that

I have several cookie recipes that use only raw honey as a sweetener, then I bake them with sprouted whole-wheat flour. Everyone seems to love them, and nobody can tell they're "healthy" (even DH, and he's the hardest to please of all!)
I don't know how she does it exactly, but a friend of mine does something with pecans where she soaks them and butters them and packages them up to sell. They're sooooo good!

Pink sauerkraut is always a hit here. I use 2/3 green cabbage and 1/3 red and it's a very attractive rose color.

I love any baked good on Elana's pantry, super easy and quick AND I don't have to soak/sprout grains! (I of course replace the agave nectar w/ honey and the grapeseed oil w/ butter or coconut oil).

I think veggies w/ homemade dip is great. I also love to bring chips fried in lard and homemade dip. Soups are a great thing too, especially in the winter. I've made this soup three or four times now (in the past week!) for my kids, they LOVE it. I usually add leftover chicken from the roasted chicken and only do 1/2 cup of the noodles.

Can you suggest some homemade dips?

How about Jerky, dried fruits or fruit leather? Or a nice jar of chutney.
