For those that have completed Hypnobabies homestudy in the past

I am 30w and have listened to the first track a few can times. I am doubt my ability to devote 45 min a night to it. Kids are out by 9pm, DH gets home not long before that, and our only reconnect time is 9-10pm before I can't keep my eyes open. I certainly can do 3-4x a week.

Is this sufficiant? Will I be shorting myself? Am I kidding myself to think I can fast track it?

Do it when you can-- that's what I did, can't really recall if I did it every single night or not, but I know I couldn't do ALL the practicing when I was teaching at school all day up until a week before birth, with nowhere to sit fully supported. But why not listen to the CD as you go to sleep? I always fell asleep anyway, and they say it's fine to do that. (as long as there are no little ones in bed with you, I imagine. I'd just eventually wake up, put the player/earbuds on my bedside table, and go back to sleep. Good luck! I had a great experience with HB.

I listen to my affirmations while getting my son down for bed, surfing the net, or driving in the car. I listen to my scripts while falling asleep everynight and like the previous poster I eventually wake up and put the Ipod and earphones on the nightstand. Actually, I get irritated when I don't fall asleep at the usual time in the scripts and I am consciously listening longer than usual...

This is my second run of the homestudy and I did it the same way the first time and it worked while I labored (transferred at 8cm for c-section due to breech presentation); had no pain at all. I believe the affirmations are as important as the scripts so I reccommend doing both.

I listen to my scripts at bedtime too. They help me sleep SO MUCH! I'm almost 34 weeks now and have had no sleeping issues. Even if in the end the program doesn't work for me, it was worth it for the help sleeping I do practice the finger drop technique when I can (aka when I need a short rest).

Just do what you can and don't stress about it. If you google around, you will find an "accelerated schedule" of sorts that was designed for women who start late. You might want to consider it.

I also listened when I went to bed. I fell asleep within moments but slept so well and was so relaxed, I know I was still benefiting. When I first started the program, I worried that I wasn't making enough time for it or taking it seriously enough but it wasn't long before I grew to LOOOOOVE the woman's voice that I started finding time to listen whenever I could - while cooking, walking, whatever, even if I only had 5-10 minutes... You may find this happens to you and you'll catch up that way. I also stopped paying attention to the weekly schedule and just listened to the tracks I felt like listening to and moved on to the next when I felt itchy to. This took the pressure off and I think allowed me to absorb it more naturally and thoroughly.

I think it is a great program and you'll benefit no matter how much time you can put towards it.

I have a feeling that everyone else has a different book and CD than we have. *sigh* There are only two tracks on our CD and they don't seem related in any way to the breathing exercises in the book. I don't really know about the second track, though. I fell asleep, but it's supposed to be with your partner. Anyhow, this post reminds me that I need to pick up the book again and get cracking! I hope we'll manage just fine. But maybe I'll google this accelerated schedule pp mentioned.

Thanks guys. I guess I feel like I shouldn't start a script during a time I cant focus and get through it. But I will start drifting off to sleep to it and listening to affirmations at other times.
