Pregnancy books for kids

I am looking for pregnancy books for my kids, mainly my 3 and 5 year olds. I looked at Barnes & Noble, and was disappointed that everything they had was just, "Mommy's tummy will get big, she may eat a lot, then she will go to the doctor and bring home your new brother or sister!" Some of them had ONE PAGE with maybe three or four drawings of developing babies.

This is what I am looking for (doesn't have to be one book):

* Info about fetal development. At least monthly drawings of the developing baby with info. This is baby number 8, and even my 3 year old has a younger brother, so they know I'm gonna get "fat and cranky" (a joke my dh and oldest son have been making, LOL), but they don't know all the inner workings. I prefer illustrations because I think they're easier to make out than photos.

* But without sex info. I'm not a prude, I just prefer to present pregnancy first, and teach about sex in my own way.

* Info about midwives and homebirth. Only one of my kids was born at home, and this one won't be, but I want my kids to know about it. Maybe something that says, "Some mommies have to go to the doctor for special reasons, but most mommies can have their babies at home with a midwife." Or something like that. It would be especially good if there was a book that showed "abnormal" births that were still at home, like a breech birth. The one book we have right now says that breech is a reason for a c-section. I usually stop there and tell my 5 yo about how she was footling breech and born at home.

Well, it sounds like you have the concept for your first children's book all worked out. Please let me know when it's published, as I'd like to buy a copy...

I'm always keeping my eye for children's books that involve homebirth and breastfeeding, here is my list I made with Amazon:

Runa's Birth: The Day my Sister was Born by Uwe Spillman
About a 4 year olds experience of her sister's home birth

Welcome with Love by Jenne Overend
Told from a little boy's point of view, Australian

I watched my Brother being born!: Including Children at Birth by Anne Vondruska
This book has great color pictures that compliment the story of a baby being born in water at home. The whole family is involved in the great miracle of bringing a new baby into this world. The event takes place in their home, and storyteller is a seven year old girl named Katarina.

Children at Birth*by Jay Hathaway

All the Places to Love*by Mike Wimmer
Features a homeborn baby on a farm

We're having a Homebirth!!, by Kelly Mochel

My Brother Jimi Jazz, by Chrissy Butler
In this book Chrissy writes from the perspective of a young girl about the beautiful home birth of her brother Jimi Jazz. This book also features breastfeeding, family bed, cloth diapers ( nappies!), and siblings shown at birth.

All the Places to Love, by Patricia MacLachlan
"On the day Eli is born, his grandmother holds him up to the window, so that what he hears first is the wind, and what he sees first are all the places to love: the valley, the river falling down over rocks....." And so goes the story of two children birthed at home, in a place so beautiful that all who come from there will never forget it, no matter where life takes them. A truly moving book that will fill a special place in your library.

Hope that helps, good luck momma.

Oooh! I was looking at the books you listed, isras1, and I found a book that I saw a long time ago called Angel In The Waters! It shows images of the baby growing and changing throughout pregnancy. It doesn't have very detailed info, but it's much closer to what I was looking for in that regard.
