This thread is a bit old and if I dont get any responses I understand. However the show just started here last night and I was wondering how it went over there? In the end do you think there was any changes? I personally think Jamie Oliver is awesome. I dont really admire tv chefs (so pretentious and such food snobs) but I really respect Jamie Oliver. He left his family for months to do this 'American Food Revolution', I believe, bc he is genuinely passionate about the state of people's eating habits. I like that he likes to rock boats, its a good thing.

I was just wondering, a few months on, if anything came of it? Is there anyone else picking up where Jamie left off?

I really don't know the answer ... but just wanted to say I love Jamie, too. I think his show was pretty awesome, and would like to know if it changed the way the public schools do things (I think it might be dependant on each state). I just know that when our kids were in public schools -- the food was not very nutrtious and they didn't accomidate for severe food allergies (which my son does have) ... his digestion has cleared up 100% by being home and eating well/allergen-free diet. (Not that this is what the show talks about, but it was a big frustration when talking with the food service dept of our local school district)

I hope HarperRose will chime in, as she is a mom from that very school district that was hopefully helped by Jamie Oliver.

I wanted to mention that the other day I was looking up who won the Emmy awards because I had missed the Emmys. You wouldn't believe how many categories aren't aired on the actual show. One of them being an award for Best Reality Show (of some sort) and Food Revolution won! I was so pleased, because the show itself was not flashy or impressive by television standards, so whoever votes for those awards must have thought highly of the content.
