I don't feel comfortable with any of my options. - Page 2

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I have a tendency toward anxiety, too. This time around, I went with the hypnobabies program and it has really helped me deal with my anxiety. I don't know if it will help with the birth or not, but I feel like at this point it's already worth what I paid for it... help in labor will just be a bonus

something to consider/check out, anyway.

I've just finished the process of interviewing midwives and I am still thinking about hiring a doula. My advice is that even if you can not afford a midwife or doula, they may be willing to help with getting an inside track on what doctors in your area are like. Especially doulas who have the opportunity to work with a variety of doctors and midwives. There is one doula in my area who is known for being able to recognize the good nurses and bad nurses at the hospital I was thinking about delivering. A midwife that I met had a TON of information about doctors and hospitals in my area, gave me a few really great recommendations, and usually they will do a free consultation. I was just open with them about not being sure if I wanted a hospital birth or a home birth, and they were willing to talk about my options. Both midwives even gave me info about other midwives. For me, talking with them really help me solidify my decision. Good Luck!!!!
