Mucus Milk

Question, I recently made mention that I was getting some raw milk and cream to make some butter and IMMEDIATELY i was critiqued because these individuals said that cows milk is nothing but mucus, puss and blood..... hmmm... I was under the impression that was "mainstream" milk but not raw milk, has anyone heard this before?

Totally not true, especially for organic/pastured/healthy cows. Healthy cows produce healthy milk just like people do.

The mucus, blood puss arguments I've heard are applied to conventional dairy practices where the animals are grain fed and kept in confined and crowded quarters leading to infections such as mastitis. In a raw milk situation, cows who get mastitis (it happens, just like with people) are taken out of the milk rotation until they heal. But conventional dairies don't which is part of the reason conventional milk wouldn't be safe to drink raw.
