Ovulation Spotting???

Today when I went to the bathroom there was a bit of blood in my underwear and when I wiped. It was bright red. I should be ovulating today (if I'm lucky). Would this be ovulation spotting or just something unusual? I've never had mid-cycle spotting before! How much blood is normally involved with "ovulation spotting"? I would love to hear if anyone has had experience with this! Thanks!!!

I never ever ever had spotting midcycle... even at the beginning of AF i would just go straight flow but especially not around O time..

until THIS cycle

I do not know what in the world made this cycle so different (besides, you know, getting pregnant but that wasnt at the moment of ovulation!) but yeah... I went to the bathroom like the day after O with a few drops of brown blood in my panties!

So weird. What causes it is the actual act of ovulation, from what I am told... red/pink usually means O happened that day, brown means it probably happened a day or two before.

I spotted this past month.. probably a few days after ovulation. I figured it was b/c I got off the pill a few months ago and I'm still having affects from that.Did you get off the pill recently, because I know it can be a cause of that.

Lookingfwd--- nope. No bc for a few months now. I'm hoping it really was ovulation and not just some wonky hormone surge! Good luck to you!

Weird, this happened to me too! So bizarre, I have never spotted EVER midcycle. I'm not sure if it was on O day though, I'll know tomorrow if my temp is up.

My temp didn't go up that much, but FF did give me cross hairs but I spotted today with EWCM (mostly EWCM...). here's my chart. totally weird. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1bc90f

Michelle-- I'm surprised you didn't see more of a spike in temp. Do you think you o'd? How regular are your cycles? You o'd on CD 18 last cycle, right? I think I must have o'd. Not as much EWCM today and no more spotting. I wish I had charted this cycle. I was using OPKs and never got a positive. Who knows... Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Christina, I did O on day 18 last month but that was the cycle after a 12 week MC, which in of itself is crazy that I managed to O that early, considering. I used to O on CD14 or 15, but nursing made my cycles crazy so it was more like CD 20/21. I feel like my cycles are getting back to cd 14, only because my nursling is now 20 months old.

If it weren't for the temps, I'd totally say I Od - sore nipples, side cramps, ECWM and + OPK but the temps are SOOOO low. So maybe I just geared up and then didn't?
Time will tell....but I did have more pinkish EWCM today (tons of EWCM)...so weird.
