Best sippy cups?

I was washing my daughter's sippy cups, and realized that one of the crevices in the top had MILDEW in it!!! I used everything, including a qtip, trying to get into the crevice to clean it, but to no avail. A dishwasher did nothing for it, either.

Can anyone recommend easy to clean, safe sippy cups? Thank you!

I like the nuby straw sippy.

It dosen't leak. The straw comes out of the top and breaks down into 3 pieces for cleaning. It's easy to take a part and put back together. I also love that it's shaped so it can roll on the floor and the straw dosen't touch.

We have the Nuby Gripper Sippy Cup and while I like it because it's soft where my DS's nose touches it, what I don't like is that you can't buy replacement nipples for it. I am a die-hard Avent user and like that I can get hard or soft sippy spouts and that they work on the bottles that I already have.

I have to also go with Nuby....we had a variety of the styles and DS liked them all. He did not take to hard sippies....I think the soft style of the Nuby was closer to that of nursing.

We love these. http://www.amazon.com/NUK-Learner-Si...8984229&sr=8-2
We tried over 10 different sippies but this one is the best. No valves and no spills or drips. Soft spout and very few pieces. No place for mildew. I also like the handle that attach from the bottom.

Love, love, love the Safe Sippy - stainless steel, and the only time it "leaks" is if DD holds it upside down and shakes it with all her might for several minutes - a couple of drops come out.

It does have a valve, but as long as you wash it regularly you should have no problems with mildew. You can also buy new valves for it; the cup itself will last forever. It has a latex outer cover, the only plastic is the top which is BPA-free.

We periodically pull the valve and put the cup, top, and valve in the dishwasher and - voila!

We don't have a tonne of options where I live, but I have switched all of my cups (I run a daycare, so I use a lot) over to Playtex ones. I find their valve system easy to keep clean, and you can buy extra valves if they get gross.

The Gerber ones are the worst. I could never get the valves clean, and have never seen them in stores. Yuck!

We love the Klean Kanteen. It uses an Avent spout which comes apart. We haven't had any problems with mildew.

I know a PP loves the Safe Sippy, but we hate ours! I find it leaks terribly! So does my friend's one. Maybe you were lucky and got a good one?

We also have the Foogo which got v mildewy for us.

The other nice thing about the Klean Kanteen is that when your kid is ready you can just buy either the sport top or a regular screw top lid.

I'm a fan of Foogo brand cups - we have two sippies and two straw cups. Both are stainless steel with plastic/rubber lids which come apart. *AND* you can buy spare parts from thermos if you loose some (or they get gross) rather than just buying new cups (I've bought a couple new lids for the sippies and extra straws for the straw cups as DS went through a phase of chewing on them...). Parts range from $1-2 plus a couple bucks shipping (which is *FAST*!!).

A few months ago I lost all patience with sippy cups. lol. We had a cupboard full of plastc bits and bobs from sippy cups and thy drove me CRAZY. I was so fed up with washing all the little parts, figuring out which parts went with which one, and constantly finding them to be dirty in some little crack or crevice. So I purged my house of them. We donated every single one. And I went straight to walmart and bought these: http://www.learningcurve.com/product...K?locale=en_US

No valves, no straws, easy to clean. just a top and a bottom. I've never had one leak on us either. Needless to say, I totally recommend them
