Can drinking RRL tea, ginger tea, or taking fish oil delay/eliminate O?

My cycles are usually pretty regular. EWCM, OPK results, and even my semi-weird mid-LP spotting always arrives at the same time.

This month is different, and I'm trying to figure out why. I didn't change much. I started drinking one cup each of red rasberry leaf tea and ginger tea each day. (I quit coffee to TTC, and needed a hot decaf beverage as a substitute). I also started taking fish oil supplements. Could any of these have delayed or eliminated O this month? Someone told me that RRL tea acts like a mild prgesterone; has anyone else heard this??

I never heard of RRL being like a mild progesterone. I have been drinking preconception tea with RRL. I don't think any of those things you are supplementing would have caused you to not O. I am also using fish oil.

If anything taking fish oil has made me O earlier. RRLT gave me cramping so I stopped that, but did not notice a late O from that either.

Oftentimes just taking a new supplement throws my O off for a cycle until my body adjusts. This happened to me when I first started taking a B complex.

I have definitely noticed weird things happening with my cycle when I have attempted to introduce rrl tea at various times. The first time I think it actually helped normalize my cycles. I was taking it as an infusion with nettle. It also seemed to make my period heavier and crampier. Within the last year I've tried re-introducing it a few times because I have a lot of it and I think it should be good for me, but every time I do it seems to do odd things. This time my periods switched from extra long to extra short It could be that my body was just getting used to it, but it weirded me out so I stopped. I think it probably affects different people differently at different times.

I had not heard of it being like a mild progesterone though. Interesting... so it would be better to take it in the later half of your cycle?

When I posted tis question on the FF message boards, that was the answer I got. I can't find anything to substantiate it online.

I stopped drinking RRL tea (I only had one bag left, anyway) and haven't touched the fish oil supps in the past few days. I'm mad at them, lol.

Bunzie - when you started taking new supplements, did you O late or skip that month?

I would O several days late. Usually the next cycle I was back on track and even doing better than before with a earlier O or shorter cycle.

When I first started drinking RRL tea, I was drinking 4 cups a day. The next cycle, I didn't ovulate when I expected to, and so I reduced to 2 cups of RRL tea a day. The day after I did that reduction, I got my positive OPK. So I think that too much RRL (more than 2 cups a day) CAN delay ovulation, but that may not be true for other people.

I don't know anything about RRL but I do know ginger/ginger tea can be an abortificant. That would tell me it effects your cycle in some way...but I don't know how it works...

No RRLT after O. I would think it could impair implantation. I had some pretty rough cramps in the TWW after drinking 4 cups a day.
