sorry in advance: this is long. nervous first-time mama!
dd has not been feeling ok. she's been terribly congested (lots of green and yellow snot) and hasn't been sleeping for over a week (two 20 min naps a day, and 7-9 hrs. a night waking every 15-45 min). we've been giving her hyland's and camilia for teething, and she wears a teething necklace. yesterday she had the biggest meltdown of her life — she cried hysterically for over 45 min. i reticently gave her some infant tylenol (.8 mL) and within 30 min she was back to her happy self. last night we continued with the homeopathics, but she woke up crying every 30 min or so. she really lost it around 3:30 am. she had a temp of 100.3 and was inconsolable so we gave her another dose of Tylenol and eventually she went back to sleep. this morning was more of the same: snotty, crying, red cheeks, low fever. i gave her more Tylenol. it took the edge off but she's still pretty unhappy.
dd's hcp is holistic and is very supportive of our choice to not vaccinate and avoid pharmaceuticals. she always recommends homeopathy or alternative healing modalities first. i thought about taking dd in b/c I'm just not sure if she is just teething (no teeth yet, minimal drool, and her gums aren't swollen) or if she's sick. but she's out of the office until monday, and i can see someone else in the walk-in side of the office but as they're mainstream/conventional i'm not really comfortable with it.
my bil said it all sounds like just normal teething stuff... and that they used tylenol and anbesol when it got really bad like this. making dd comfortable is my #1 priority, but are there other things i should be doing? any other homeopathics? should i make her a chiro appt? or should i just take her to the walk-in dr?
