developing an egg sensitivity?! boo hoo!!!

Several months ago we found a great source for free range eggs. (She even delivers to our house ) I've been eating them a LOT as it seemed like a great protein source as pastured meats are a bit more expensive. Figured this way I'm still eating pastured food, but it's not as expensive. Ok, so sometimes I was eating 5-6 eggs/day. A few for breakfast and then some hardcooked ones for snacks/salad toppings, etc.

Well... a month ago I noticed my stomach hurting in the mornings sometimes. We were visiting in-laws in FL and I thought perhaps I wasn't doing well w/ their grocery store eggs, sort of ignored it. then I noticed it here at home even though we're eating pastured eggs. I was hoping I was imagining it, but nope, I just had egg/avocado salad for lunch and some 30 or so min later, I feel SO sick. Boooohoooooo! What in the world? I've slowly improved our diet removing processed foods and replaced them w/ real, good quality foods and now I'm developing a problem w/ them!??! I'm SO sad!

I guess I should post this in the allergies section; but you all are my food "buddies" so came here first. I've been away for a while w/ computer issues, but am looking forward to being back on. No one suggest any egg subs for me yet, OK? I've done plenty of egg subbing w/ EDs for trying to nurse my LOs. I've not had much baked-in egg so I'm not sure if I do better w/ that or not. Grrrrrr....

I've heard eating eggs every day for a while may result in developing an egg allergy. I'd say give them a break for a few days/weeks and try again, and this time go slowly. Maybe have one or two eggs a day, see how that makes you feel, then wait a few days before having eggs again.
Also, try the eggs raw, it may be that raw eggs are fine but cooked are problematic (this is a good idea if you're eating eggs for the nutrition, and my fave way of eating raw eggs is mixing the yolk with some cultured cream and sweetener - just like custard!)

Maybe also try eating just yolks or just the whites,- maybe you're only reacting to one component of the eggs?

good luck!
